Hey all how have you been ? Me well I have been busy being the short apprentice helping Dan with our house, and am happy to say this last few weeks we have busted our clackers but are finally noticing the hard work we have put in.
This month has been so busy,we have worked to all hours in the night just to progress more with it.
It is coming together so well. There have been a few things we have had to compromise on such as flooring :( i have been wanting wide floor boards for so long now and was told this week that if i wanted the wide boards in the timber i wanted then i would have to wait over 6 months to get them. There is a shortage all over Australia for the boards that i wanted .... boohoo to me so i am getting the normal size boards, never mind i guess..
I am sure they will look lovely any way.
The other thing we most probably will have to change is the tiling in our en-suite, Dan was so good to finish everything in that room including the cornice and MR tiler tells me now that because the cornice is already in place, the tiling will look dodgy because cornice can warp the walls in some places and by the time the tiles reach up to the cornice some parts of the tile will be sticking out more than the others :( so again we have to make the choice whether we rip the cornice out and wait till he tiles or just have a half tiled wall DOH ! what would you do??

The two top pictures is the extension of the lounge room. You can see where we have extended the house, where the carpet stops and you can see the particle board ..
Bottom photo is our room , if you walk through the door where Dan is painting you will walk into our room and en -suite, I can't wait to be sitting on our verandah in the mornings after we wake up . Lastly the bottom right photo is Dan again sanding the roof , poor bugger has had sore arms these last few weeks. This guy truly deserves a medal, he is one awesome guy.

Do you like my front doors??

During the school holidays my girls and i have been getting organised and having a few spring cleans, their rooms were a total disaster, we spent two whole days doing a room at a time and am pleased to say they have kept them spotless since, One of the things i was so annoyed with everyday was our middle draw in the bathroom which housed our hair bands and elastics, well everyday without fail i would pick up lots of hairbands off the floor (or nag my girls to pick them up) because a child has wanted the hairband that was down the bottom of the draw, and usually they would get that hairband but not before all of the top hairbands would fall to the floor. They seem to be incapable of picking up behind them so i was left to pick up the mess .. So after searching pinterest and chatting to a few friends on facebook about my hairband disaster a friend showed me this idea.
I scored the frames for 50 cents each at a garage sale, they were painted up by my girls and totally transformed into a really useful hairband holder LOVE IT .. Now they have a pretty hairband holder hanging in their rooms and guess what!!! I have a middle draw that only holds hair brushes yippeee Happy mummy :)

My last share for today is this gorgeous Willow Tree angel that my mum bought me. She is an angel of healing and compassion , she is holding a little birdy in her hands.

Mum said when she saw it she needed to get it because it represents me, over the last couple of months i have been fortunate to save a few baby birds that have been thrown out of their nests,
One bird (A little sparrow) in particular stole our hearts, We called him squirt, We saved him when he was only a day old, he was just beautiful and we had decided that he was going to be a part of our family because i had researched and found that if a bird has been hand raised from birth then they will have a tough time making it in the wild EEKKK!!

After looking after him for a few months and had got him to the stage where he was eating by himself ,my Daughter got him out to have a play with him, which he looved ..she did not realise that the front door was opened, and he flew straight out
I was devastated :( and worried that he would not ever make it out there in the big wide world
He was like my little baby, feeding him every hour, taking him to places with me because i needed to feed him often , well the little guy and i had a nice bond. But the universe told me that he was a bird that was meant to be in the wild and not in a house ! so off he went, I look out for him every day and in fact i am pretty sure he came to visit us the other day while we were having fun in the pool, so i am feeling a little happier knowing that he survived the big wide world and that he can come and visit, i really hope it was him ..
So when this parcel came the other day it warmed my heart. Thanks Mum xxx

Enjoy the last couple of days of school holidays if you live in NSW.
My girls go back on Monday, I really don't want them to leave. We have enjoyed everyday of the holidays ... Bring on Easter i say !!

Missed me much??

Hey Beautiful people how have you all been?
I have not blogged for a couple of month's due to soo many reasons, first is because i have packed up all of my scrapping stuff in the wait to move into my new scrap room, but in order to get my scrap room i need to help Dan with so many other rooms first, such as our bedroom which currently looks like this Eekk!

My scrap things are all packed up and to be honest with you i have not missed scrapping, not because i have no interest in it,i really love scrapping,i love to pour my heart and soul into my pages and express my feelings, but i truly have not had any time to scrap and of course no area to scrap !
So what have i been doing ? Well Dan and i put absolutely everything we have into this house, as I type these words i am thinking i should be doing something else, like paint or help plaster or sand, i don't know ! anything..... We are getting there with it but it is a SLOW road.
Some days i feel sooo over it all and i just want a nice house, especially when i step into friends houses that are perfect with all walls, ceilings cornices and paint ! checking out sites such as pinterest is fun to do but man oh man i feel so envious when i see a gorgeously finished house that is perfect SIGH! but it will happen, Good things come to people who wait right??

My Scrapbooking kits have also stopped for a while, I am not sure if i will get back to selling kits or if i change my little business into something else ! not sure yet .... but i will keep you posted

I signed up for a nail tech 3 course a couple of months ago now which i am going to get stuck into when my babies get back to school , I am looking forward to a change of direction in my life so i hope i stick with it and tough it out ! .
Nail art is really popular at the moment and i know i can do really good with that being i have creativity running through my blood, this little town i live in is actually going to see some funky looking nails :)

Hmm what else have i been up to ? Well we FINALLY got our family photos taken in December, it has been a long time since we got a proper family shot, Danielle Quarmby travelled down from Melbourne to Newcastle so i jumped at the chance for her to take our shots :) here are a few examples of her work, we get the disc in the mail hopefully within the next week

The other reason for me not blogging is the fact that Blogger decided to delete my account and shut down my blog WTF ! it has taken me a week to find out the cause of them closing it down. I found out today that my blog had been hacked and that they shut it down .. HELLO a little warning would have been awesome or perhaps even a message stating what has happened and how i can fix it again? Nope nothing. But i have it back and now i can keep in contact with you lot again ........

I have been painting doors over the last couple of days and needed a change ! so i pulled out this cane chair that i picked up really cheap from my local buy and swap site on facebook, the chair needed a little TLC as she had the bottom of the chair broken and the cane around the legs broken and unwound. So today i fixed her up , sorted out the problems and gave her a few coats of paint and check her out ! as good as new, she is going to sit in our bedroom with a few gorgeous cushions .. Love it !

It has been nice catching up, i will be back, i think? not sure if anyone reads my rant anymore ?? do you read my blog?? if so maybe let me know by flicking a quick message, might inspire me to keep on blogging

Hi all! how are you today. I am here to show off my Polkadot pages using the newest Hazel Court kit
first one is of Ebony and I at Camp Mojo, love this photo so much, i was so happy to have met Eb, We have known each other for a few years now but never got to meet, until this year, and boy am i so glad we met because this chick is one gorgeous girl, we are so similar in so many ways it's funny really.
The number tickets on my page represent the number she wore at mojo, not sure if she won any lucky door prizes, but she wore it every day around her neck so it stayed with me .
I loved using the Pink Paislee misting mask that you will get in this kit, i have used texture paste to give my diamonds some texture .

She shines brighter than a diamond ..

Next page is another Mojo picture taken on the second last day :( My fav thing used on this page are my handmade lollipops that i have placed in every kit. I kinda like my crazy title too, representing how crazy fun it was hanging with these girls xx

Do you remember my garage sale finds just recently? the above photo was the original state of the piano stool i scored for $5.00
And here is the after photo, i needed to repair one leg, i searched for some very vintage music sheets which i picked up at our local swap meet a couple of weekends and then i began to hand paint it in white but did not like the look of the brush stokes, so i sanded it down as best as i could and sparay painted it, I gave this little table a vintage/shabby chic look . Do you like it ?? I am searching for a really nice name plate to nail to the front part of this table

This piece is going to go in our new room as a bedside table with a sweet little lamp i recently picked up at target.. oh i can not wait to dress up my house

We had an electrician here all day today and again tomorrow putting in most of our switches, lights fans and air con amps for our new extension ohhhh excited much LOL !

This cute dress in a size 8 woot woot ;) happy dance ! and to go with the dress these candy brand new wedge shoes yah me ! A $9.00 outfit

I am a bit of a belt girl and picked up these two belts,one which is billabong for $4.00

It's thrifty Thursday again

On Saturday i got up nice and early to go garage sale hunting, I was on a mission and super excited to go! which is not normally me, I am not an early morning person at all . The first few garage sales were CRAPOLA and not worth getting up early for , but the next one was perfect .. I got all of these yummy pieces (yeah they look really dodgy now, but you have to look at their bones ) they have good bones and with a little imagination and some paint they are going to look fabbo

She had $15.00 on the piano stool with the padding Pfffft What ev's lady, then she said to me becasue she saw me looking at them "you can have that for $5 if you like" ... "yep" gotta have that, i thought hehe
I walked out of that garage sale with these items in my arms except the piano stool with the ugly vinyl, (I came back for that one) I was a happy girl ..... next was a deceased Estate you should have seen how busy it was, people lining up just to get in the back yard CRAZY! it was meant to start at 9 am but there were people there way before then walking out with arms FULL of stuff . It was like a mini maze too, heaps of stuff everywhere .. So i picked up this beauty for my girls for $10.00

You should have seen the excitement on their little faces when i showed them what i had picked up for them PRICELESS !

at the same place i also got this suitcase

for $2 ....yippee i have great plans for this baby that includes legs on her and a new facelift ..

This piano stool is going to be painted white i think with a music sheet top, to replace the ugly vinyl ick! i will also give her a vintage type of look ..

This stool is going to be painted a charcoal or black with a burlap printed top Ooh sounds nice doesn't it.. i have bought the burlap now just have to be patient and wait for the post man to deliver it ...insert Girly squeal here !!

This lot plus a potted rose and 2 other pretty plants and a couple of books for my girls cost me $40 happy dance for me !! can't wait to get stuck into them and show them off .

Thrifty Thursday

Hi ya
This weeks Thrifty finds are proudly brought to you by Salvation Army Family stores .While i was searching through the racks of clothes there were so many fantastic name brands, BUT every item i picked up was either a tiny size 6 to 8 or larger sizes 12 to 18 grrrrrrr so annoyed ! and you would not believe what i did OMG how daft am i ? I went to check out the shoes and found the cutest pair of heels that were red strappy with a cork type heel they were sweet as! and only $3.00 . this store only has one pair on display and you have to ask for the matching pair, with all intentions of buying them i put them back on the shelf because the lady was busy and i had my hands full at the time "I thought i will get them when she is finished talking"........................................................................Hmm but this little duck got distracted by a piece of furniture i was umming and ahhing about and the gorgeous red shoes remained on the shelf Ahhhh so annoyed .. I will go back tomoz and see if they are there. The chair i was umming and ahhing about was a 60's chair that needs to be reupholstered.
They had $25.00 on it, i left it but i think i could make it look pretty again, so i think i will go back and get it .

This is what i got up to this morning .. i have signed up to learn how to apply acrylic nails, gels and learn how to do nail art . I have not started the course yet i was a little impatient and watched the dvd that they supplied in the package . I attempted my own hands with Acrylic. Bit tricky to do on your own hands ....sheesh i definitely need to read the theory and learn heaps because i have a few dips and it's a bit thicker in parts but i am sure i will get it happening soon.

House Renovations

Most of you know we are extending our little house and renovating too, it has been hard going, just about every weekend we get stuck into some sort of HARD WORK ! and we are slowly getting there, I am so proud that we have done it all on our own (except the gutters and roof) this is our progress so far

This is the front of the house, the front is our room with ensuite and walk in robe, then an add on for the existing lounge room

This is and add on for our new kitchen and dining the concrete part is going to be our covered in sun room

This Was Dan and I struggling to get a MASSIVE double truss up on the roof. this needed to go all the way over to the sun room OMG it was heavy But we did it!, pretty clever idea i gotta say ;)

In the middle of extending our house we have also built a pool for the kids and a massive deck Sheesh what is wrong with us LOL

I will have to take an updated photo of the pool and deck as it is all finished now, just needs a stain over the deck timbers
My Brother Aiden came and did our roof for us in April

Here is our Bifold Doors which are now properly installed and are looking fantastic , this is the sunroom area

I am most excited about building a window seat, i have always wanted a window seat and it's going to happen in the extension of the lounge room YAH ME !!

So there we have it just a little update as to where we are at and what we do on our weekends. I can't wait to show you all the inside area once we have walls ;) oh happy days ! Our plan is to be in our bedroom by Christmas. At this rate it could be a possibility, keep your fingers crossed for us
We have plumbers starting in the en-suite on Tuesday OMG excitement !!

Thrifty Thursday

Yah its that time of the week where i get to show off what i found today, this week i took my self off to Tamworth and had a ball looking through the shops, they have the best life line shop which is HUGE and jammed packed with so much stuff. This week most stores were getting rid of their winter clothes so i scored my items for half price Woohoo !
So this is what i picked up on Monday

A gorgeous Cardi which looks so sweet on, Didnt have a tag so i am not sure of the brand it was half price and cost me $1.50
A black and white dress or i would wear it as a long top with tights or jeans it was half price also costing me $1.50
the necklace cost me $2.00 and the hat which looks really cute on cost me nothing because it didn't have a price tag so the lovely lady winked at me and popped it in my bag.. how nice is that ;)

Love these shoes they are new and were only $3.00 I need to give them a little dusting ;)

The black frame is also new, I payed $4.00 for it
the belt i picked up last week it is a gorgeous leather one which i payed $1.00 for
so my items cost me $13.00

I also picked up a few things for my girls, my girls LOVE books , they were excited to see all of these books on their bed

This little pile is for Mollie and cost me $3.00 the skirt is from target

This Pile is For Amelia and cost me $3.70 the smaller books are first time readers that look brand new and were perfect for Amelia's level of reading for kindy.

When i was a kid my mum used to lay out whatever she would buy for us out on our beds just like i have done here, When we would get home from school and put our bags in our rooms we would be surprised it was soooo exciting for us, I have kept this little tradition going ,I love watching my girls excited little faces when they come out to me with their new things in their hands, PRICELESS! and for that joy it only cost me $6.70

Well the time has come

This picture is my Mum, one of my best friends. Its funny i used to remember her saying to me "you will under stand when you get older" or "you will look like me when you are older", just the other day she said she was looking at me from behind and said "ah you were just like me at that age"!
I am already getting the grey hair, my metabolism has slowed down and the weight i used to be able to lose quickly is not shifting as easy, which she has warned me about soooo many times , I have clicky knees just like mum, both of us are not very confident in our abilities, we are both very creative yet we suck at maths, we are very logic and real, We would prefer to read a good book or create rather than party, Gee sometimes i even sound like my mum!!, I have even said to my girls "what do you think we live in a tent'' something she used to say to us soo often when we wouldn't shut the doors LOL so yup as i get older i am realising that i am soo much like my mum and that is ok cause my mum is the greatest xxI hope one day my girls can say that about me ..

I have three kits left so help your self to one over at the shop

We didn't need to go to spec saver's

To see you were coming first ;) This is Amelia showing off her first ever ribbon for coming first in the infants cross country .
The journaling reads : whenever i see the spec saver add where the daddy is cheering his little boy thinking he is coming first, to find that later on he sees his little boy actually was coming last and decides that he does actually need to get Glasses ;) I just love it and i love the way the little boy is so proud of himself even though he was coming last.. We have always said to our girls that it is not always about winning its about getting in and having a go ! So when we saw Our Amelia coming first i was Cheering her on like a crazy mummy ! this was the first cross country she had ever been in so to come first totally shocked us ;) I have scrapped this photo a few times because it was a really special memory.

Thrifty Thursday

This week I scored well at my local Vinnies and op shop, I live in a small town that only has two stores:( Gee i so wish i could move my 5 acres and little house including the messy renovations with me to a major Metropolitan area where there are heaps of Vinnies and op shops... I would be in heaven ;) I was in Vinnies the other day looking at some clothes and across from me were two ladies, (i think mother and daughter) they were really well dressed in fact they looked totally funky in their layers. They were chatting about this and that as they were looking at the clothing on the racks, I was by myself listening to these ladies excitement. It put a smile on my face listening to how happy they were that they found a few items that they loved, so i started chatting with them, We chatted about how many people there are who would not ever step into a Vinnies store because they feel that the items are used or smelly, and that it's embarrassing to even enter the stores, the older lady was talking about her daughter who is married with three children and another child on the way, her daughter (obviously not the daughter who was with her )would not ever step inside a Vinnies. She even gets cranky at her mum because she is wearing used clothing, OMG how could she complain about what her mum was wearing , like i said before she was really well dressed in what looked to be well known labelled clothing, The older lady said that she very rarely shops at clothing stores, about 90 % of her clothing she picked up from op shops... yah i love hearing stories like this. I was thinking while listening to them how i miss my Mum, who also likes to shop and score fabbo items at op shops :( She has recently got a great little job and works all week so we never get to hang out any more, we used to love this kind of shopping.. (stop working mum and come and hang with me again ;)

So here is what i found during my shopping trip the other day

Firstly i fell in love with these cute little shoes and yah they were a size 6 yippee, they look so vintage yet they are brand new and never been worn, my idea is to dye them red, how cute will they be in red ?? They cost me $6 which i was really happy about paying .

Next we have this really different Cardi and really sweet, the photo does not do this cardi justice at all, as you can see it has different lengths and layers, teamed up with another long top underneath and a pair of skinny jeans and boots for winter or a pair of Mary Jane high heels this would look sweet .

This top cost me only $2.50 it is very light and would look sweet with a skirt and belt or jeans and flatties. yep i love flatties

And lastly this skirt cost me $5.oo and is also new with tags how sweet will this look with a black or brown top and a pair of sandals, or even boots with layered tops
This next score cost me nothing what so ever, I am part of a group on face book where people buy and sell there items locally, a lady wanted this out of her house so i jumped at the chance to take it off her hands with the intention of fixing it up ... I am thinking of painting this a duck egg colour and distressing her, change her handles, giving her a new look .

So confused

Dan and i are getting to the point where we (Ah hum) I need to make some decisions as to how i am going to style our house,(Dan doesn't like this side of things;) lots of changes will be happening around here once we get some walls up and painted but i am just soo confused as to which style i will choose for us . As most of you know through my restoring of old things and my scrapping i like to use recycled things, so i know that there will be a mix of furniture that are going to be restored in amongst my things. Ii am thinking i will go part modern with restored items Kinda like Josh and Jenna's style on the block Orrrr go really dreamy and go for the soft whites, beige and wheat colours, keeping in mind that i have two grotty children who wipe their grubby little hands on EVERYTHING LOL

Ok first of all this is going to be the colours that i will have on the exterior of our house, we have the grey roof so i think these colours will go perfectly ;)

Ok so here are my Mojo pages FINALLY, as i said before i lost all of my Mojo at Camp Mojo and only managed to do 4 pages OOPS! I had a blast chatting with so many fab women though, so my scrapping just didn't happen. That's my excuse any way ;)

So here is my first page, this little chicky babe is my baby sister who turned 18 the other day, we took her out to Newcastle clubbing OMG Clubbing i haven't been clubbing for a while, it was very interesting let me tell you that ....I felt like a sardine in a smelly tin because it was so squishy and smelly and people were spilling drinks all over me ICK and my gosh there are so many weird fashions and things out there Eekk!! gee wizz i sound old hey ? I am not really that old LOL. I think she had a good time though, that is all that matters

Second page is on my Miss Mollie, the photo is not the best because she was skipping out side in the dark,this page we had to use recycled things, my perfect challenge

My next page is all about my hubby who i adore so very very much, a few of the girls were teasing me about this page ahhum Crystal G!! but i can't help it my hubby is my soul mate i love him so very much, thanks Eb for the circles and Lauren B for the tape !

Last of all this page was a challenge that I entered in, we needed to use a song title for your title, i love this photo i took a few years back when we first moved to the country . How perfect that the cow next door just came over to see what i was doing ! I won first prize with this page yippeee :)

look what i scored yesterday

So you know how i have a little fix it up bug happening, well i went to visit our local tip, yep i said it right ! our tip here has a shop which you can pick up some really cool pieces of furniture and things to restore, I went to look for an old door that i could fix up for either a head board for our bed or a piece like this one on pinterest
i love this idea too .. but instead of finding a door the first thing i saw which was right at the entrance of the shop was the lamp that is pictured in the middle!

I nearly had to tackle Jackie for it but in this case it was the tallest person wins LOL !! haha that doesn't happen very often for me cause i am short but Jackie is shorter YAH for me ... (I totally just made that up) Nah I was a terrible friend and bagged it first :b
So for $13.00 i scored the chair the middle lamp and because i flashed my boobies at the guy i got the end lamp stand for free ( I just made that last story up too LOL)
Any way i must be off i have an athletics carnival to get back too .

I was up bright and early to take our little Archie to the vets ( yesterday he was feeling a little randy and decided to have his way with our lovely soft fluffy blankets) Ewwww so i smartly ring up the vets and find out the age that they are ready to be desexed. The vet replies "5 months is the norm" My little guy is only 4 months but definately loving blankets to the EXTREME LOL so off he went this morning. Since i was in town i decided to duck into our Vinnies. On the door there was a sign saying ''50% 0ff all clothing" "yippee" in i go and scored big time.
I bought 12 items of clothing for only $20.00 gotta be happy with that hey? I bought a brand new pair of Pjs for summer and spring, another pair of cotton sleep pants both new, a pair of trackies and a really cute off the shoulder jumper for walking, because everyone needs to show off a little sexy shoulder whilst walking Right ?? haha . Next i bought this really cute black skirt with embroidery on the bottom, very sweet for spring would look nice with a cute top and sleeveless denim jacket.

Next i bought these totally funky striped jeans super tight with boot cut but very soft, they don't even look worn at all. .Might have to walk a bit more though because my butt has expanded over the winter months !! LOL
I also bought two sweet cardi's and a gorgeous Pumpkin Patch dress for miss Mia, She is going to love it , Mollie scored a drop waist Pumpkin Patch dress with a hipster belt too NOICE !
How did i go ? pretty good i reckon .
Do you like to have a shop in Op Shops every now and then? or are you the "I'm not shopping in an old smelly shop" type of girl" ?

So it's been nearly two weeks

Since Camp Mojo... and what a blast i had ..Jodi and I travelled together for 4 hours in the car, I was getting more nervous as we got closer to the hunter valley OMG meeting so many awesome creative people in one place was freaking me out just a little, LOL I was really looking forward to meeting lots of new people as well as a few special people i have been close with online but never met in the flesh.. We arrived after stopping and having lunch with a few girls that were heading too Mojo too such as Peta, Sar,Sandra who i have been friends with on facebook for a while now, Suzanne from wow, the brave Trish who knew nobody and Crystal who i had never met or really known very well until now, We get there, unpack our stuff find out where we are sitting and where we are sleeping and claimed our beds, we head down to the scrap room and find out that we are sitting with Tatum Woodroffe, Lauren Boase ,Ali Merkin Mcdonald ,Michelle Winston ,Crystal Goulding,Lauren Warren Bell,Ebony shiny Van Der Starre and Trish.. yah what a great bunch of girls to hang out with.in our villa we had the same bunch of girls as well as Kim Jefferes and Tarrah Mclean.(who i would have loved to spend some more time with but it just didn't happen :( . This weekend was going to be fabbo ! The one main person i was busting to meet was Miss Ebony i knew that she was probably going to be as nervous as me so as soon as i saw her i ran up and gave her the biggest cuddle ever, I am so glad i got to meet this special girl, she just warms your heart, we got along really well,it felt like we have been best buds since forever.. I am sure we will remain buddies for a long time, i just wished we lived closer :(
During the weekend there were scrapping challenges happening,with lots of prizes, and fun to be had by all,for me though my Mojo went walk about. I managed to get 4 pages made (yep) 4 only eek that is a shocker ! I did join in on the challenges on Saturday and won a challenge so yah that boosted my confidence a bit, I wished i was a scrapper that can whip up a page in 45 minutes but it just doesn't happen. At home it can take me a whole day to get my page just right, once i have it all positioned then i stick it all down .
So here are a few awesome chicks i got to meet and totally loved hanging with

Here is Anne Marie Cox and Crystal tickets Goulding, We all knew that AM had entered the scrapping building on the first day because she was squealing and screaming with excitement whenever she met people she has known for a while, this girl is crazy funny, she can have you in stitches in seconds, she has a fantastic personality and is also very warm and loving.
Crystal what a funny gal she is OMG the whole weekend she made us laugh so hard we nearly wet our pants, We are now buddies on Facebook and chat often....

Aww check out these girls Lauren Bell and Eb, Lauren was soooo tall "when standing next to me anyway" LOL She is a country girl too, and so lovely i am really glad i got to meet another SBM master

I have no idea what we were doing here, i just love the photo ;)

Aww two very gorgeous ladies here, Lisa Oxley who i have known for a LONG time when i was about 18, she was doing her child care prac at the preschool i was working at.
Back then i thought wow this chick is soo creative,she had a journal that she took with her everyday and in this journal she would write down all of her thoughts about her family probably everything and anything she thought about,she showed me a few paintings and drawings she had put in there, I couldn't believe how clever she was, I don't think she was scrapping at this point... any way time went on i had my babies and started scrapping. I was blog hopping one day and found her again under the name ScrapWitch,of course she was rocking at her scrapping,how could she not she has a talent ! this girl is also totally funny, her and AM were a great team making people laugh the whole weekend long. Marelle is so so special, she was like our mum at camp, so caring and loving .It was a pleasure to meet her.

It was so lovely to see Lauren and Tatum again, I have known these girls for a while now and it's always fun hanging with them..
So there we have it i met so many awesome ladies, there were lots of people i would have loved to chat to more but it was soo busy and hectic i didn't get around to everyone :(

Thanks to Sherry and Jane for putting this mammoth retreat together, it must have been a massive task, I am sure all of us mojoers will remember this retreat for a very long time to come.

Last of all to Michelle i am soo sorry that you got locked out the villa on the very first night, you must of felt awful, especially not knowing us at that point. I promise we did not mean to lock you out LOL . It was lovely to meet and get to know you. Thanks for hanging with me in the coffee line too ;)
So there we have it Camp Mojo is all done and dusted. I have not unpacked my stash yet so when i get around to it i will take some pictures of my (4)pages and pop them up !

What was old is new again

Hello hello, how are we all today?? cold i bet BRRRRR! it was freezing today, i am thinking that tonight is going to be worse, Electric blankets on all beds in my place tonight, yes siree..
Guess what i got up to this weekend, besides helping Dan every now and then? I did some more revamping, I had these wooden lamp bases for ages now just sitting around waiting to get sold at the next garage sale, ( do you have a garage sale box like i do) ?? you know all the crappy old things you don't think you want anymore, well since i have the "revamp the old furniture bug" i have kinda pulled a few things out of that box, Oops . Dan just rolls his eyes at me every time i say "oh i can totally fix that"
So anyway i got a bit sidetracked, the two very ugly lamps got a new lick of paint yesterday, while that was drying i was cutting, sewing, cursing!! and sewing some more and look what i have done TADA ! Two very pretty lamps This one is Miss Mollie's it cost me $10.00 all up all i payed for was the material, this really daggy shade which was $1.00 at Vinnie's and a bulb, the spray i had here already. bargain hey?

yep i think so, Mollie loves her new lamp because it matches her new and improved chair ..yippee happy Days

Here is Amelia's lamp all fixed up , this one cost me about $13.00 for the material, yukky lamp frame, Prima flower and the bulb .... BARGAIN, Amelia chose her material, so that makes it even more special for her..This one was way more trickier because i had to start fresh with the lamp shade,which meant sewing up a whole new shade = fiddly work. But i am loving it now

Next project is a very very ugly bar stool which i picked up at a garage sale for $2.00 .OMG it's hideous it even got a few laughs when i proudly showed it off ! now that i look at it i can see why i got the laughs but all i see is POTENTIAL, well here is hoping LOL

I know i know i havn't posted anything here for a while SOZ!! I have a bit of time on my hands since i do not have any DT commitments anymore except SBM Masters and even that is sadly coming to an end. I have totally enjoyed my time with SBM.
Any way heaps more time to create for me and in a way i have still been creating but not with paper, nope i have been hunting down crappy old furniture and giving them new life, and totally enjoying this process, although a little harder on the hands and body but still getting great results so I am here to show off my first piece that i bought at the tip for a whole $3.00

All i bought to fix it up was the paint and a tiny bit of blue fabric for the cushion total cost $39.00 and we have a totally new chair to go in Mollie's room.. We are still extending this house so when we are finished i am soo looking forward to getting into each room and completely re-doing everything, oh i can't wait for that day, I am so over extending this house SIGH !
Any way here is her chair all painted, lightly distressed and waxed to look pretty again ..

I can see one very pink and one a pretty blue like the cushion or very white with lots of ruffles and handmade flowers even .. I have two lamp bases which will be shabby chic to match the chair .. can't wait to show you.....

Yep That would be me ! I love winter so much because you get to wear layer upon layer,long boots (i do have a thing for boots ) pretty winter hats and my latest addiction SCARVES ! yummy so here is one of my favourite winter hats at the moment

It's my turn to share on the Scrapware blog today, this week we are showing off frames.. I heart Scrapware frames
This first Page is about my beautiful new Niece Arielle I wanted to use Pink, A colour i have not used in such a long time :) I also wanted a clean page with not a lot of embellishments because i wanted the focus more on the photo rather than the scrap page.

This page is my first page using Emerald Creek, the colours I have chosen for this kit are more for boys but i have only my husband to scrap and I wanted to show the people that are interested that scrapping girls with this kit can be done :)

This is Jackie and I, a bit rosy cheeked and glassy eyed after 3 glasses of wine, It does not take much for me to get drunk obviously it only takes a couple for her too .. The papers i have used are the Bo-Bunny Ad Libb Range, fancy pants transparency and MME yum yum .. If you were interested in this kit there is only one left so be quick sticks

My daughter Miss mollie was born on the 18.5.2002 we were in hospital the night before she was born which was totally horrible, we both stayed in a ward by ourselves it was the WORST night sleep i have ever had, actually i don't even know why i said "sleep" because i did not sleep, so I may as well say that it was the worst night ever! I was getting contractions and pain but i was only 1 cm dilated UGH!! ..I would be induced at 9 am in the morning, the nurses gave me a good "hearty" breakfast ( or so they said) of all bran 'Blah 'ick. yuk !I hate all bran ! so i went into the labour ward tired and hungry but very ready to get this baby out! at 1.50 pm out she came a big 8 pd 9 ounces, ouchy! I am only a little person so getting a nearly nine pound baby out nearly killed me!! LOL,any way they whipped her away from me so fast because she was not breathing properly and had swallowed some meconium, There I was in the labour ward all alone with blood every where not even fixed up yet, there was no baby or hubby in sight because Dan was asked to go with Mollie SIGH ! Any way it all turned out well and i got my cuddle about half an hour later! No other problems happened for my first born, we were home a couple of days later
I can not believe my little lady is 9 OMG where has that time gone ??

Hi Girls
Just popping in to share two pages that i have made using the latest may kit called Apple Blossom Place. So far I have found this kit to be so easy to scrap with both pages came together so nicely and the colours have matched in really well, I love the little handmade flags too :)

This is my first page called "On this day, the story is about Amelia not wanting to go on the new Ride on mower that her Pa's just bought, Mollie was totally into it but Amelia freaked out so Nanny took her into her lovely garden and picked flowers instead, She was totally in her element and completely happy then :)

And here is my Second page using the my little bicycle paper as well as crate paper and sassafras love the lettering and flowers here

This is little Archie he is now 7 weeks old and a very good boy so far, crossing fingers xx

Happy Mother's day

Hi Girls I hope you had a fab day today :) my morning started at 6:30 when both my girls woke up and came in for a snuggle for a while, then thankfully they left us for an hour to have a little sleep in . I was greeted a second time with all of these gifts in my bed this morning, Wowee did i get spoilt or what ??

Then Dan and i got stuck into putting up some eaves around our house... I know it's not very Mother's dayish is it ?? but it was my idea :S so at 2 pm we stopped and got ready to go over to my Mum's for dinner we had a yummy Chinese dinner and picked up our little kitty cat. we think he is a boy and I am thinking of a name still for him, he has gorgeous green eyes and already my girls have fallen in love with him, he is in his new home now and snuggled up to his water bottle, i think he will miss his brother's and sisters for a while :(

And this is his little sister who we are trying to find a home for, so if you were really after a little kitten let me know she is 5 weeks old and very affectionate. Since they have all been hand reared they have so far turned out to be really snugly and affectionate which is really lovely :)
Mum is not asking for any money for these little guys, she found them abandoned next door and has taken them in and has looked after them since they were only a couple of days old ,she just wants a safe, happy home for them

I already know what i am getting for mother's day Oooppss ( a new Janome sewing machine ) yippee.. my girls have being playing secret squirels though and hiding their presents that were bought from the school stall . I am sure i will be pleasantly surprised :S I need a few more face washers and cakes of soap LOL !!
We will be picking up a little kitten Tomorrow. My sister found 4, 1 week old kittens abandoned by the owners and the mother cat so they took the kittens in and has hand reared them. they are now about 5 to 6 weeks old , The RSPCA are not helping out with getting new homes for them so she has had to find owners, hence why we are taking one,Eekk we have never owned a cat before so tomorrow will be interesting to say the least . I will take some photos tomorrow
She has one left and would be so happy to find a home for it so if you love kittens and would like to see more pictures Pm me .. We think it is a she, she is ginger with gorgeous blue eyes , because they have been hand reared they are all very affectionate and loves a cuddle

I am thankful

Hi girls
Today it is my turn to show off my Scrapware page this weeks theme is " being thankful" I have lots of reasons to be thankful and if i was to mention all of the people i am thankful for my post would be massive and i would be scrapping for days, so today i have narrowed it down to the three most important people in my life. My hubby is the most important person in my life, he is my best friend, my rock, my soul mate. I am So thankful for everything he does for us, He works so hard to give us all we ever need and he is the best Daddy EVER.

My girls of course i have heaps to be thankful for each and every day , Even when they are in their annoying moods LOL !
I have included journaling but have tucked this in behind my photos cause its a bit private :)

I have been waiting for the right time to use my Scrapware overlay and today was the perfect day I love the way it frames the whole Layout .

Notice the paper I have used ?? Yep that's the Polkadot kit paper for this month and a few of the embellishments too , I gave my self extra sheets this months Ooppss :)

Sketch time At TPDP

Hi Girls today we have a sketch to show you and hope that you participate with us, Michelle has whipped this one up and has done a lovely job, I love that it has lots of white space, I have a bit of trouble with white space so i enjoyed having a play using our latest kit Bliss Terrace. The only thing though is that i really don't have as much white space as intended Oops ( told you I had trouble with it)

Hi all How was your Easter weekend ?? We went to Melbourne this Easter weekend which was a nice change but it was soooooo Busy ,OMG Crazy busy, every Tram we boarded was Insanely packed like a tin of sardines Eww i smelt so many arm pits it was gross LOL.. We did go to Luna park on Easter Sunday which the girls loved and saw the Tutankhamun Artefacts at the Museum On the Saturday, I was so excited to go and see this exhibition but was totally bummed when we got there because they truly packed it out, you could hardly get a second to read and take in each artefact before getting pushed out of the way by people who wanted to see the stuff as well , they really overbooked big time which i assume they did this because the Insurance to have these pieces was so very expensive so to make the money back they seriously had to cram us in, Which sucked big time and took the whole enjoyment out of the experience, but any way we got to see the artefacts and was so intrigued by the story that i would like to learn more about Egypt and the way they lived 3000 years ago, their way of life was so different and their beliefs in the afterlife was so intense , I would love to actually travel to Egypt to see more ..
Any way the Easter bunny made it to Melbourne My girls wrote him a letter and stuck it out on the front door telling him where we were, they were very concerned that he would not find us..
Most of my customers so far would have hopefully received my kits in the mail by now and are happily scrapping with them, there are still a handful left so if you like what you see here go and grab one
Michelle has been scrapping over the long weekend and has sent me her pages, so here we have her three pages so far

I love what she has done so far especially her " brother" page it is just so special that photo is priceless :) I love the mix of textures and colours in this kit especially that hand made wooden butterfly which is very unique

This page using the Bliss Terrace kit took AGES!! all of that cutting sheesh!! but i totally love how it's turned out, busy looking and a little bit crazy but that was what i wanted to suit my title and subject, I am loving Sasafrass foldies, they are fantastic and how funky do these papers look !

how has your holidays been so far ?? I have loved the sleep ins ZZZZZZZ it's lovely to wake up whenever and have no running around or routines, My Brother is coming to visit on thursday night to baby sit our house while we go to Melbourne for the Easter weekend, but while we are away we will be getting a roof put on yippee, that is what he is going to be doing ....Oh I love my Baby brother, I am so glad that he was able to swing it since he lives on the Central Coast and Works in Sydney , Thank goodness for Easter holidays :) So after the weekend there will be no more stress , we have had a tarped roof for a couple of months now and as we were working on the new extensions more parts of the old roof needed to be taken off ,so ATM we have more tarps than roof and they are not holding up very well on rainy days so yes sireee i can not wait for our new roof .

Hey all
Today has been super busy for me packing kits, preparing sketches and Techniques for each kit and uploading Bliss Terrace to the Polkadot place website
I was so thankful i got all of my products delivered to me in time, obviously a little late than normal because i have not got any page examples to show you as yet, but still glad i was able to upload it on the website on the 15th PHEW !!

Michelle And Leeaan will be receiving their kits shortly so you will soon see page examples

My Body is strange :)

So as you probably already know i decided to join in on the 5 kilo challenge , this is my third week the first week i did really well and lost 800 grams, that does not sound like lots but for me who is only short and not overweight it was a big deal , that week i ate all of the right things but did not count points or anything I exercised and earned about 5 to 7 points with each session , the second week I was so so good i bought a huge amount of vegetables and fresh fruit and salads, i skipped bread's, rice and pasta's and replaced with salads and protein so I was really excited to get on the scales to see how much i have lost .I get on the scales and have put on half a kilo,that was very disheartening, I was very annoyed ! so i decided that i was ditching the scales because i felt really good, I bought a pair of skinny jeans about a month ago that were tight around the hips, i had bad muffin top syndrome, that same pair is fitting really nicely with only a slight muffin top LOL so that tells me that i am slimming down :)

This week i have watched what i have eaten and have taken note of my points but have not been so strict with the whole rabbit food!!! I have had breads and carb's too and have had a few blow outs with takeaway and birthday cake but have earned about 6 points per exercise session which i did 5 times this week so i get on the scales and i have lost 600 grams so go figure :) the scales are sideways they say that i weigh 58.8 kilo's woohoo :)

Happy Birthday Miss Amelia

On Monday It was Amelia's 6th birthday yippee she was so excited , 6 years ago we had such a stressful pregnancy with her, from 18 weeks we were told that there was a high chance that Miss Mia was going to be a Downs syndrome baby, even though we had the 12 weeks scan and we got the all clear then, her neck measured correctly, so we were sweeeet but then as i was driving home from my scan i got a phone call from the doctor saying that she wanted me to come back to the hospital so that they can do the ultrasound again as something is horribly wrong OMFG i was so scared driving back to the hospital, So any way We get there and we were told that Amelia's neck measurement came back too thick which is a sign of Downs syndrome, this was a couple of days before xmas, we were told by the doctor that we needed to make a choice before we got to 20 weeks other wise the decision is taken away from us and you pretty much have to have your baby...Could you imagine how i felt at this point ? this was sooo distressing, We demanded another ultra sound, this one was more specialised, but we had to wait two whole weeks to get the test results back, We celebrated christmas and tried really hard to be happy, we didn't want to worry Mollie who was only 3 at the time, We get the phone call 2 weeks later to say that we can finally relax that she has normal chromosome's and all is well , Phew we were so pleased and eager to put that stress passed us , BUT WAIT THERE IS MORE !! I was told that i needed another ultrasound at 34 weeks because i had placenta Previa and they wanted to see if it had rectified itself at this stage . so off i go at 34 weeks....... OH dear what a nightmare i was told that they are absolutely positive that Amelia has Downs syndrome her neck was just too thick to be normal FARK!!!!!! how can this be when the ultra sound told us we were sweet ... OMG more stress. and not only that, she needed to be delivered ASAP because her lungs had collapsed so i was given a dose of steroids to prepare her lungs for delivery,we were told We will be having her 5.5 weeks early on the Monday morning and to prepare myself for the worst, so on Monday morning i come into the hospital totally stressed and emotionally not ready for what was to come. I got there and was given an epidural then i had to have an amniocentesis to finally find out if she was downs ? I remember all of the amniocentesis and was so sad because i could see my baby, her little hand moving around like she was waving to her mummy, the needle went through which i could see on the screen too, not a pleasant experience at all, The next couple of hours i was given so many drugs that i was completely off my chops and i don't remember much, Amelia was born i got to see her very briefly and what i saw was that her neck was very big she was taken away and i was sent to the maternity ward to rest Fttt rest OMG i don't think so, I saw Amelia about an hour later in NICU, she was so tiny and the doctors were still confirming the downs, because she also had wider set nipples than normal which was another sign of downs SIGH! Long story short a day later she was all cleared she was not Downs syndrome she had fliud around her neck and collapsed lungs the medical term was kyle thorax a lung problem, She stayed in NICU for two weeks in that time she was pretty sick but i was able to feed her which was a plus, Dan and Mollie stayed in Ronald McDonald house while i stayed in the maternity ward, we got to take her home two weeks later and now we have a very healthy and very cheeky little miss :)

So every birthday we remember what we had to go through, we had decided together that we would still have had Amelia even if she was Downs syndrome, and are thankful we did not make a rash decision to have her terminated, just because the first Doctor said that it was a high chance that she was. Every time i see a Downs syndrome child i am reminded of the stress that we went through and the thoughts of " that could be Amelia and us" ?? I am sure as a family that we would have coped ok but am blessed that she is fine and healthy

Here she is , She unwrapped this present last ! and look how happy she was ! it's a zu zu princess castle track, she loooves her zu zu pets,

our Rule is that if you touch the bottom of the cake when you cut your cake you have to kiss a boy ! and that boy was her Daddy :)

Friendships at Scrapware

Today I am here to share with you a page that I have made all about my two great friends Jodi And Jackie, I moved from the Central Coast 2.5 years ago to a smallish country town of Gunnedah,with no friends except online,and Leaving my best friend behind i was so lonely and missed the Central Coast life, until an online buddy Told me about a scrapper who has her own blog and Guess what she lives in Gunnedah OMGosh, I thought "Gunnedah" no way REALLY LOL ! any way i contacted this Scrapper called Jodi Dolbel by commenting on her blog, Turns out she is just as obsessed with scrapping as i am LOL !! We made plans to have coffee and meet up with a few of her friends which was great, but in the mean time i met up with this lovely lady at my daughter's school during pick ups ,Her name was Jackie ,Jackie and I chatted in the afternoons and got to know a little about each other .
SO it was time to meet up with Jodi, She had two buddies with her Brenda and Jackie, and so the friendship with the four of us began, I am soooo happy i met these girls they bring sunshine to my life :) Ps Brenda was unfortunately not here this day we took the photo... :(

Crazy Hair Day

Today my girls had crazy hair day at school so we decided to put lots of curlies in their hair using pipe cleaners, i got the girls up a little earlier than usual so that we had enough time to get them done in time to go to school , Ohhh they were so excited today!
This is how it turned out , I used one of my butterfly templates and sprayed butterflies over the top part of their hair, it's not very noticeable in the photo though, they loved it...

Oh my gosh look at my Amelia's gaps ! this kid is not going to have any teeth in her head at this rate, the tooth fairy is going broke LOL !

We had a trial run the other day to see how it would turn out and it was not a fun experience pulling out the pipe cleaners so wish me luck this afternoon :)

Wow weigh in time again eeekk !

Hi All , today it's time to weigh in to see how i have gone for the week, my week has been a bit tougher for me food wise as i have been craving my chocolate and the kids have had some really yummy things like Hot cross buns and all the really nice foods LOL so that has been tough, i did have a sneak of some Chocolate and also a bit of home made chocolate cake the other day, but guess what i have burnt that off ,I am sure i bought ZUMBA the other day, friday actually and ever since i have been zumba- ing away and you know how last week i said how i HATE excercise and think it's a total drag at times, well i have changed my mind, i am loving zumba it's been the best and if i do the 50 minute session i can burn up to 1000 calories how is that AWESOME i reckon, I have been doing it for 5 days now and i can feel already that my waist is getting a bit of definition and has trimmed down just the tiniest bit so i am excited about that LOL, think i ought to measure myself :)

So my weight did not really come down much only 400 grams but it's a loss that i am happy with and i am a step closer to getting to my 5 kilos with only 3.8 kilos to go yipee .....the picture is way blurry but I am sure you can see that it's 59.3 kg (check out my thong tan LOL )
This is what i had for lunch today, yummy chicken fillet about 90 grams, coated in a tiny bit of plum marinade with salad and a bit of light tasty cheese mmmm mmmm, beats ham sandwiches any day ( that is what my hubby had today) !!

Next i have a page to show you that i made very quickly on Friday night for the boxx cyber crop, i really wanted to make more to join in with the rest of the girls but over the weekend we were so busy with reno's that i ran out of time and steam DOH!

This is my beautiful nephew only 10 days old he is now nearly 4, gee they grow up so quickly :)

Weigh in Wednesday

Hi all , well today is the big day, i started this weight loss adventure last thursday and have been a good girl all week, I have used my treadmill jogging 5km, most days, one of those days my body was very tired and it just would not work as well so i walked instead, I have even got on the wii in the afternoon with my girls and danced and played wii fit so i have been active, With my food I have cut down my portion sizes, cut out lovely, beautiful lush white fresh bread and at this stage i have not replaced it with any breads but this week i will replace it with wholemeal ICK! lol for my lunches i would normally have a sandwich but i have been making up really nice chicken salads, or yummy ham salads so i really haven't missed my bread, the hard part though is after dinner when it's down time, Dan and I usually snack on something yummy! like CHOCOLATE mmm mm LOL and chocolate is my most fav food which i have not had much of this week except the other day i had six pieces of caramello chocolate, I dont feel bad about that because i think if i go full on and starve myself of all of the things that i love, i know i won't stick to this so if i have my yummy things in moderation i will do much better, that's my excuse any way (giggle), one thing i have not had all week and it's been a hard one is my Chai latte from a cafe OMG its worth 4 points with skim milk and i know i dont always need to have it so i have given it up unless i have a coffee morning with my buddies ( umm girls if you read this is it coffee get together like soon ) LOL
Putting my weight on my blog and showing it off to the world has been a Massive Push because I don't want to have to say that i have put on weight to all who is reading my waffle.
So this week i have lost 0.8 nearly 1 kg woohoo I am pretty happy about that, so that puts me at

Hi Girls
Well here I am again to show off two more pages, one from Michelle and one from Leeann, I know i am just a tease HEHE!! i will show off the last lot of pages over the weekend :)

So you know how i was saying that this kit is not always about the girls here is proof, infact i have sold a few kits to people i know have no girls at all !! That makes me happy :)
Here is Michelle's boy page, i think this one is so very special, it reminds me of Amelia's Tofffee he is a BIG part of our family and always will be, Toffee has absolutely no stuffing around his neck so he flops instead of sitting up nicely, but that is what is so special about him

Busy busy this week

Hi Girls , I hope you are all well, Today I am starting a new challenge which is not a scrapping challenge, well it is sort of but not really LOL, I was blog hopping yesterday and hopped onto Karen's Blog while i was reading her new stuff i came across an older post which totally inspired me, OMG this lady is so determined and motivated i am sure she has inspired many ladies so far and if she continues with this challenge she will encourage more women to lose those saddle bags for ever, So i thought that i would like to join in, I am not an overweight girl and never have been, i am in my healthy BMI but i am at the higher end of it, i want to be back to the weight i was before i moved to the country and that was around 55 to 57 kilo's, Blogging my weight is going to really push me because lots of people come and visit and lots of you read my waffle so how embarrassed will i be if i put on weight RIGHT?? yep i thought so :) so this morning i jumped on my scales and i am 60.5 kilo's, people tell me, including my mum who says i have the weight loss disease!! that obviously my body is telling me to stop and be happy were i am, but they don't know what i eat and how much i eat and how slack i can be with exercises at times, my exercises regime has always has been random, i get all motivated and energized lose a couple of kilo's and then fizzle,put on those kilo's then start all over again, i wish i was one of those people who love to exercise but to tell you the truth i don't enjoy it, ugh especially on hot days ick, I would love to find something that i love and know that i will do it every day, my treadmill has probably been the most used ! so i will continue to use that and different exercise dvd's i have in the house, my buddies are gyming it which is motivating but because we are extending our house money is tight, plus i want to know that i can do this on my own with out all of the gym equipment .. and if i fail that then i will join up at the gym, I will be following the weight watchers plan, i have all of the books and tools to do this so wish me well, I really hope my friends and my mum will follow my lead, because encouragement, motivation and support from friends is always the best tool for weight loss, next Wednesday i will weigh in with the rest of the girls that have taken this challenge , so if you want to join me on this journey sign up here

Vintage pages at Scrapware

Hi Ya peeps
Today is my turn to blog over at Scrapware and Vintage is the theme, I got to show off some of Ange's new releases, mmm mmm so yummy, So any way here is my page, the lady in this photo is Dan's Mum, she was a model in the early 1970's before she had her babies all 5 of them.. We have a stack of vintage photo's because Dan's hobby is family history ( cough cough not that he has time to have a hobby at the moment with the house reno's and all, i swear i dont always have the whip out ) LOL ! Poor guy..

Its not very often you see a flower or swirly pearls on my pages i actually struggle to use Prima for some reason, especially the flowers they are so pretty to look at but i find them very big, but this one was not so big, Hmm ok so i can only use prima in small doses (Giggle)

Actually i have used a prima flower in my next LO too, but that one was a paper one that looks more natural and not so sparkly so its all good LOL !! Oh dear you must all think i am nuts there are soo many prima lovers out there, Put your hand up if you are one of them !!

What a day UGH !

Hey all
As most of my facebook friends know we have been extending and have half of our roof off so that we can put up trusses and beams for the new rooms, WELL Today was a shocker of a day for us it started at 2 am in the morning with a big down pour and tarps flapping in the breeze so up we get Dan and I, Dan up on the roof in the pitch black me outside in the pouring rain battening down the hatches .. The rest of the day was just showers nothing to bad UNTIL 3.30 in the arvo when out of nowhere these massive winds and heavy rain came OMG the tarps were ripping and the eyelets breaking from the force of the wind which meant we had massive gaps and the wind was just getting under the tarps and pulling all of the weights that we had on the roof they were flying everywhere it was CRAZY and sooo dangerous, I call Dan to hurry home i needed help now.While he was rushing home i call the SES to come help.. Dan comes home and nearly gets knocked out by a flying piece of iron on the roof and slipped on the roof badly hurting his hip and leg, Holy Crap so dangerous in the first place to be on the roof in a massive wind storm. But any way we manage to weave more ropes through the holes on the tarps that had not ripped and tighten ropes as best we could, half hour later the wind and rain had died down and the SES come, grr so annoying but you would think that they would help with more tarps or ideas as to what to do next time this happens NOPE they were not interested in what just happened they could see that there were tarps on the roof so off they went, Well that was it for me Break down material and the tears came it was just all to much BooHoo, Thankfully this time around we only got a bit of water damage down a wall in the lounge room and part of the wall near our front door, but every time it rains we get damage somewhere else Eekkkk!
We have lots more to do before we can get the roof on and this crazy weather is testing us like you would not believe but today we got through it

Looking at those clouds you would not think we just had a crazy freak storm

So lets hope we have clear days for a while please please please mother nature be kind for a little while longer ....

Scrapware's card keeper

Hi All
Ange from Scrapware sent me a gorgeous pack of the new scrapware chipboard that's just been released and in the package was a card keeper which i have placed on the blog today,
I have not used mine for a card keeper though as some of the products she gave me was screaming whimsy and since my baby girls believe in fairy's i felt a fairy letter keeper was special for my girls
We have a garden in the front yard where my girls have found a few fairy letters occasionally, They have written many letter's to the fairy's and they get a reply back, mostly from the queen fairy who's name is Millicent, but some times Millicent has to visit her other fairy gardens and the girls get to read letters from many other fairy's.
some of their letters they have lost so i thought that this little keeper would keep them safe and the girls will be able to look back and remember all of the special things that happened in their childhood

If you look closely you will notice that the flower petals pop up which looks really pretty in real life, the fairy is sprinkling fairy dust onto the garden which sometimes happens in our garden !

What a day

This LO was made up using Verity Court Feb kit from TPDP
This photo is of Miss Amelia on christmas day, she had this wobbly tooth for weeks and weeks and funny enough it finally fell out while she was in the pool on christmas day, Oh i was so pleased i had the camera with me because i got the best shots, she was sooo excited that it had fallen out and that she had caught it (she had this fear that she would swallow her tooth while she ate her dinner) This is what happened to her big sister's first tooth !
Any way this LO talks about how lucky she was to have Santa and the Tooth fairy visit all in 24 hours,my girls have also made this discovery that it is only the girl tooth fairy's who leave the fairy dust behind, because sometimes a particular boy fairy has come along and misplaced the fairy dust, so girls are what my little ladies wish for whenever a tooth fairy is due to visit :) Gee those boy fairy's are slack
All of this is written in the journalling

Monster pages at scrapware

Hi Girls today it is my turn to show of a few pages that i have made using Scrapware monster's, oh my gosh these little critters are just the cutest.
This page is made up using mostly Pink Paislee and Graphic 45, I have made a Masculine page this time which is such a nice change from the girly page i normally make, its not very often i get to go all boy YAH!!
So This page is all about my hubby and how much he amazes me,he is just the best guy ever, he is my world :)
Check out the googly eyed critter (LCNP04Googly Eyed Critter) I just love him, all i have done is kept him natural and used my black ink around the edge .
The impact letters (AZ12 Impact Large) have been put through my sizzix using a cuttlebug embossing folder and then i have used the same black ink to rub over the top to define the embossed writing, i have then used Modge Podge to give my letters a nice shine

This photo was taken while we were in Tasmania just recently, we had taken the girls to the movies and that is were they had a photo booth so of course we had to get our pictures taken (as dodgy as they are LOL)

Brackets have been inked up and then i have used a white pen to outline the brackets, With the Crazy Critter I have kept her natural I think she suits the crazyness of the photosdont you think??

First day of school

Hi girls
Well it was time for my baby girl to head off to big school on Tuesday, she had a very quiet day on Monday which worried me, all of her nails were chewed off which is a sign of worry and stress for a little miss so i was a bit anxious when Tuesday came along, here she is before we turned up at school doesn't she look cute !!

So any way she gets to school and as she sat there drawing she did not cry but i could tell she was worried about staying, I said goodbye and she just waved and popped her head back down and continued to draw. PHEW i thought !! Glad she did not cry, but i could not help myself she is my last baby i am going to miss her so much :(
On our way i had a small hay fever moment, and on the way to coffee after i dropped her off i had another moment ,but the worst for me was when my husband came home for lunch and asked how she went, OH my god what is wrong with me, i totally broke down and cried my eyes out, the house was so quiet the rest of the day, it was the weirdest feeling.
When i picked her up she looked happy enough, i found out that at recess time she cried lots because she just wanted me, i think she was just lost and not having a friend to play with, lucky she had her big sister who came over to her and stayed with her at recess and lunch, i really hope that she finds a few friends ,once this happens i can relax a little, its day three today and she she is just wanting to be friends with her sis and no one else eekkk!

my biggest worry is that she will get teased because of her glasses, she is such a timid little girl and i would hate to hear that horrible little children are teasing her.So crossing fingers that does not happen

TPDP has a design team

Hi everyone
I have been so overwhelmed with the amazing work that has been filling up my inbox everyday, I would like to thank you all for applying, I have enjoyed reading each and every one's application.
Since TPDP is only new and just starting out i have chosen two girls that i thought would really compliment my kits, i really wish i could have chosen so many more girls to be on the team, there was so much talent
Omgosh you are all so very clever it was very hard to choose only two :(
what i have decided to do is keep all of the applications and when TPDP gets bigger i will be contacting some more girls to add to my team as well as introducing guest designers so do not worry if you did not get in this time around maybe it will be your turn next time
So without further ado i would like to introduce our first ever Design team member’s for The Polkadot Place
LEEANN PEARCE

Hi – I’m Leeann Pearce and I am married to Quentin and we have 3 beautiful girls. Holly (8) Storm (7) and baby Jorja (1). We made a tree change in late 2010 and now live on a farm not far from the ocean. I have been scrapbooking since 2004. I am lumpy bumpy, full of texture, scrape a bit of paint and do a little doodle a long with something special that’s handmade, which all feature on my creations. I have a huge love for buttons. You’ll see lots of those on my layouts. I also have a love for machine stitching and bright colours. I like my creations to be fun and bright which reflects my personality – happy and a little quirky! I love the whole process of creating and also look forward to creating the next one. Very excited about creating for “the polka dot place”..yippee!!

MICHELLE FOWLER

My name is Michelle Fowler but, most people call me Shell and I live on the beautiful Sunshine Coast in Queensland.
I’m lucky enough to have the best job in the whole wide world, being a SAHM to my 2 gorgeous little boys and wife to a wonderful and supportive husband.
I have always been crafty and have tried my hand at lots of different creative hobbies but my absolute favourite is Scrapbooking.
I find it hard to define my style as its always evolving but other people have described my layouts as clean and bright.

i needed to use misting, sewing, buttons,at least 4 papers,and the handmade item which was the zipper flower and felt flower from pretty petal

Well it's time to start looking for a few design team member's to help compliment The Polkadot Place :) so if you would like to join my team and work with LIL old me in promoting my kit club adventure I would like to see your work

Hey girls here is my first page for the show us your stuff challenge site, this month we are scrapping a page about the things we have accomplished this year something to be very proud of, so of course i had to do a page on my Recent news of becoming a SBM master BIG news for me ;0 You also need to use a hand made embellishment which is my doily flower and Leeann's buttons

On the news Of The master's, the magazine is out on sale today, I got my copy in the mail today and was so overwhelmed at seeing my projects especially the double LO which was made in honour of my Pop who has passed away,The photo turned out unreal and is featured beautifully,I wished he could have seen it, he would be so proud :)
The magazine is unbelievable there is so much talent in the scrapbooking industry and in my eyes everyone who scraps should be so proud of themselves whether they get published or not because we first and foremost scrap for our families and the memories we make, and of course because we love to scrap and if you are like me are totally addicted :)

Hey peeps
Here are two more of my Buttercup Lane pages, what i have loved about this kit is the versatlity of the papers,I have been able to make boy pages too, because the papers are double sided one sided is girly the other is boyish so perfect for both pages :)

This is my baby Brother who was married recently, i Love this guy so much, he is one awesome bloke, I get hay fever every time i think about him and cant wait for him to move a bit closer to his family! His name is Aiden, but he gets called Ace mostly, how cool that the ace cards represent his name, I got excited when i saw the backs of the paper woohoo !! can you spy the button stamps in the ribbon flower and on the journalling sweet huh?

And check out this cheeky girl how cute is that little tooshi :) I love love these papers so very pretty dont you think ?

I have also loved the letters, now i am not really a glitter scrapper but these Thickers have matched in really nicely and i have loved playing with them, the crate paper, lace paper is just devine and so easy to adapt i cant do flat pages very well and loved cutting out the lace and popping up off the page, and how sweet is that ribbon and brads mmmm mmmm go and grab your kit today

Hi there
This week its my turn to make a christmas LO over at the scrapware blog, I decided to use the graphic 45 papers that i got given in my prize pack for masters, I chose to change my photos and give them an aged look and turn them into christmas bauble shapes, I used the scrapware correboard (i love this stuff)and cut out my own christmas trees too

Tomorrow I will be back to show you three pages i have made for the Buttercup lane Kit which is going to go on sale on wednesday 8th, I have been asked if i could put forward the sale of the kits due to christmas and since i am ready to go i will put them up with my made up pages, you are welcome to buy the kit earlier as it's up on pre-sale . mmm mmm yummo :)

So this week's meal from the Donna hay Book is
Oregano pork cutlets with garlic brown butter mash

2 Tablespoons olive oil
1/4 Small sprigs Oregano
1/4 cup finely Sliced preserved lemon rind ( we left this out )
4 cloves of garlic poo weee:)
4 pork cutlets or veal cutlets
Sea salt and cracked black pepper
mashed potato to serve
Garlic butter
60 g butter
2 cloves of garlic (yep we stink real bad right now LOL)

Heat a large pan over medium heat . add oil , Oregano,lemon rind,and garlic and cook for 2 minutes
Remove the Oregano lemon rind and garlic from the pan leaving the oil, Sprinkle the salt and pepper and add to the pan cook both sides for 3-4 minutes each side . return the oregano mix and toss to coat.
To make the garlic butter place the butter in pan and and cook for 1 minute take off heat and add garlic
to serve, place the mashed potato on serving plates and pour over the garlic butter top with the pork or veal and spoon over the oregano mixture and pan juices
this was one of the yummiest dinner so far from Donna hays recipe's The picture in the book looks nothing like mine but hey it was a massive hit with my girls We loooved it !

Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas :)

Well i have kept a secret for sooo long now

Today i can reveal that i am one of 10 scrapbooking memories masters for 2011, I am so excited to share my news Woohoo !!!!!! September 10 was when i got the phone call, i was in Tasmania at the time, totally bummed out cause it was about 2 oclock and thought well there has been no phone call for me i would have thought everyone got a phone call, boohoo to me ! then low and behold about 2 minutes later i got a phone call from Kristy at SBM congratulating me ,OMG i was soooooo excited and completely shocked i could not believe what i was hearing.
I have heard on facebook that two of my scrappy friends, Tatum Woodroffe and Kat Glossop are joining me this year and can't wait to see who the other clever girls are, bring on that magazine which should be on its way soon i hope

On the polkadot front there are two more kits available for November, i will be showing a sneak peek for the December kit soon
preorders will be available next week :)

I think its take out for tea tonight and a few drink yah so glad i don't have to keep any more secrets

I must apologise to my friends for not telling you earlier i was given STRICT rules not to tell a word.Sorry girls x

My little lady goes off to big school, I am so sad about that :( I am going to miss having her home with me, what am i going to do with my spare days Eekkk ! scrapping and lots of kits i think :)
so any way here is a page that i have done for the scrapware blog using miniature chipboard

ragu and potato pot pie

Hi all
Master blog chef time again
This is what we had for dinner last night Donna hay's ragu and potato pot pie

it was yummo too and a big hit with the kids they actually had seconds gotta love that !!
Recipe
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 onion chopped
2 cloves garlic
500g mince
2 tablespoons tomato paste
3/4cup beef stock
2x400g cans crushed tomato
1 tablespoon tomato sauce
sea salt and cracked pepper
5-6 large potatoes
grated Parmesan cheese
butter and cream to mash
Heat oil in a large fry pan high heat add onion and garlic and cook for 3 to 4 minutes add mince and cook for 10 minutes add tomato paste and cook for 1 minute add stock and cook stirring for 2 minutes or until stock has evaporated, add tomato's, tom sauce and salt and pepper, remove lid and cook for 5 minutes
cook 5 potato's in boiling water until soft , drain and mash with butter and a dab of cream
divide ragu and place in 4 x i cup capacity oven poof dish ( used a large baking dish instead)
spread mash potato over your ragu, sprinkle grated Parmesan
place dish on a baking tray and cook in oven at 200c for 10 minutes

So here i am chowing down on a big fat piece of Chocolate cake yummo, People who know me, know i have a couple of major addictions the first one is my scrapping which many of you have noticed ! the second is a GOOD skinny Chai Latte, i have to have one whenever i am out and about, and the third is CHOCOLATE yummy sweet Delicious chocolate and its not just the blocks i love its anything that has chocolate in the ingredients LOL

I have had some feedback about my kits which is just fantastic, A couple of people have suggested that i should give my kits a name each month which i am thinking about right now and have some really cute names happening in my head LOL!! I am thinking about lanes, places, streets, twists, coves and cresents to keep in with the name of the polkadot place so if you have any cute names that pop up in your head while you read this feel free to share :)
I am also looking for people who make hand made embellishments that sell on etsy, handmade or even on facebook, so if you have spottted a really cute embellishment that you thought was fantastic for scrapbooking could you share the link so that i can get in contact with them

Maple syrup and mustard chicken yummo :)

Ok i know i am super late with this one since it was due last week (BLUSHING), any ho i have been a bit busy so i have now got to catch up by making two Donna hay dinners this week yah !

So last night i made this super yummy dish

Recipe is
2 teaspoons of dijon mustard
2 tablespoons of maple syrup
2 teaspoons olive oil
sea salt and black pepper
2 chicken fillets
1 pear sliced
Serves 2 ( I doubled the recipe to serve 4 )
Preheat the oven at 200 c place mustard , maple syrup oil, salt and pepper in a bowl and stir to combine. add chicken and sliced pear and toss to coat
heat a medium non stick frying pan over a high heat and cook for 2 min on each side
place the pear slices on a baking tray and top with chicken, spoon over the mustard mixture and roast in the oven for 15 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through
and there you have it

The kids did not like the pear Grrrr but Dan and i loved all of it, the chicken was so soft and tender the flavours mixed perfectly

First Sneak peek for the Polkadot Place

Hi girls

Lots of people have asked about the colours and products that are in the first kit so i thought i might show off over the next couple of days a sneak peek of the pages i have made up
So here is the first one Called "Best Daddy Ever "

So here you might notice i have used Hambly, a Basic grey felt flower, basic grey doiley paper,Some Jenni Bowlin , you can Also see two lots of alpha's and there is one more packet of alphas to come, yep i like different alphas on my pages how bout you ????
